Name: Eve Baird Canon: The Librarians Age: 42 ("448") Appearance:link Canon Point: post-412 The Echoes of Memory Background:link CRAU:
Personality:
► STIFF. Eve's a pretty stiff and rigid individual, someone that grew up military and later became military herself. That rigidness is instilled in her from her years of service, and whilst Eve does know how to relax it isn't something that she does easily. She's someone that throws herself into her work, especially given that she's protecting the world, and likes things done a certain way -- she likes plans, doesn't like working spontaneously and heavily questions decisions that are being made. She'll be bossy and assertive especially when she thinks that you've got a terrible idea.
► LEADER. Leadership is something that Eve does without really thinking about it, partly from her training, mostly from bossing people around to get things done her way, but because she knows how to keep people safe. She's got a tactical mind, is observant and quick at reading a situation and uses all of the information she has to protect people: leading them safely either in combat or through a plan, making sure they all get home safe. Eve doesn't leave people behind.
► COURAGEOUS. Eve strongly believes in her skills and capabilities, drawing from all of her past training or things that she's learned to use in any situation confidently. She isn't reckless nor overconfident, more cautious in unknown situations when she needs to be, but in the face of danger Eve doesn't back down or run: she fights. Eve fights to protect herself and protect other people, using tactical retreat when it's the better option to then make a new plan.
► STUBBORN. Eve's strong will has helped her in many situations, through the horrors of war that she's seen in the line of duty, through the unusual life that magic and the Library brought to her, and through the challenges of the people that she worked with. After joining the Library it took a long time for Eve to get her team to the skill that they're at, having to train them to work together but also to be able to use more than their individual skills (whilst teaching them new skills). Eve was almost relentless in her training, wanting to make sure that they were prepared and protected. On missions, she was insistent on them having a plan, refusing to let them run off half-cocked or into danger and always making sure that they came home even if it meant putting herself in danger to drag them back. She fights for them, fights with them to make them see sense, and does everything to keep them safe.
► CARING. Whilst it isn't the first thing that you see about her, a stubborn stiffness prevailing, Eve has a big heart for the people in her life. Whilst few people ever get close to Eve, those that she works with (her team and family) are the people that she cares dearly for, saddened when something happens to them, worrying for them if they're threatened and fighting like hell to keep them safe. Eve cares enough that she's referred to her team as her kids on more than one occasion, a sort-of mother figure to them in how she loves them but also in the guidance she gives them outside of their missions. You don't choose your family, Eve would never have chosen these people, but they are her family: the people she loves, the people who know her best, and the people she'd move worlds for.
Weaknesses/Temptations:
► the library or flynn being in danger
► if something hurts or upsets her, eve has a tendency to ignore it which can make her miss something or make mistakes
► though she has a good moral compass for doing what is right, her wish to protect as many people as possible means that she sometimes has to do less-good things to do that (such as making deals with devils)
► she's a soldier, though she prefers not to kill she has no issues doing so when needed and has believed her gun to be the only solution on past endeavours.
Sins:
01. using magic 02. trespassing 03. theft 04. manipulation 05. lying [to those she cares about] 06. betrayal [of those she's meant to protect] 07. pride 08. reckless endangerment of self 09. disregard for mortal life 10. changing the timeline 11. being complicit in the harm of others 12. destruction of property 13. human sacrifice 14. sex out of wedlock 15. threatening an enemy's life 16. participating in war efforts 17. condoning the murder of enemies 18. ending another's life 19. property damage 20. unnaturally extending one's life
Powers/Abilities:
► IMMORTAL. After tethering to the Library, Eve became the Eternal Guardian making her immortal, meaning that she is unable to die and no longer needs to eat or sleep and no longer becomes sick. Whilst Eve can still be hurt and feel pain, any injury will simply hurt her until it heals, with anything that should kill an ordinary being only able to hurt them, often without leaving a physical wound. As well as physical invulnerability, immortality also grants Eve invulnerability to natural phenomena, such as being able to withstand toxic gases without any side effects.
► GUARDIAN. Whilst a Guardian is typically known as the brawn to a Librarian's brain, Guardians are more than just a bodyguard, responsible for caring for their Librarian's spiritual wellbeing as well as their physical wellbeing. Guardians need high levels of self-control to protect themselves and their Librarian against the sway of magic, and are typically known for laying down their life for their Librarian. Eve is particularly special in that she was destined to become a Guardian, seen when the Loom of Fate was unravelled and every world that she'd died in had turned out horribly. Her destiny involved a great role in altering history, something that no other Guardian has been stated to do (her life worth more than thousands of Librarian's combined).
► REALITY AWARENESS. Due to helping Santa spread the holiday spirit and having her consciousness split 'everywhere at once', Eve is able to retain her own identity and original memories when travelling to alternate universes and is able to remember changes to the timeline after it has been changed, being a little more sensitive to it now.
► COMBAT. Trained by the US military before joining the NATO Counterterrorism Agency, Eve is a skilled fighter both in hand-to-hand combat, solo or against multiple combatants, and armed combat. Whilst Eve's preferred weapon is a handgun she's familiar with multiple types of guns, handheld weapons and improvised weapons. She's also a skilled tactician, is capable of utilising the skills of those around her and using an enemy's weaknesses against them (even powerful magical beings).
► LANGUAGES. Eve speaks five languages, including English, Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch and can use Morse Code. She's likely also picked up key phrases or some knowledge of other languages from her military service and her time around the Librarians.
► OTHER. Eve is also capable at defusing bombs, picking locks, piloting a plane, and is pretty handy with codes and puzzles.

You don't choose your family, Eve would never have chosen these people, but they are her family: the people she loves, the people who know her best, and the people she'd move worlds for.
Suitability:
Eve is military raised and trained, recognises danger and fights hard to protect the world. She's travelled to alternate universes before and has seen the destruction caused, fighting to undo that damage and save the world (again). Whether or not this was her world wouldn't stop Eve from trying to protect it and the people in it: you don't leave anyone behind and you don't stop just because it's not your home, especially if she wants to get back home. Eve's also familiar with magic and weirdness and you bet she's gonna keep doing her Guardian job even if she's in the wrong universe. No apocalypse on her watch anywhere.
Powers/Abilities:
► IMMORTAL. After tethering to the Library, Eve became the Eternal Guardian making her immortal, meaning that she is unable to die and no longer needs to eat or sleep. Whilst Eve can still be hurt and feel pain, any injury will simply hurt her until it heals, with anything that should kill an ordinary being only able to hurt them.
► GUARDIAN. She's also a skilled tactician, is capable of utilising the skills of those around her and using an enemy's weaknesses against them (even powerful magical beings).
► LANGUAGES. Eve speaks English and is fluent in Italian, she's also shown to have some fluency with Spanish. She's likely also picked up key phrases or some knowledge of other languages from her military service and her time around the Librarians.
Entity Affinity:
► THE EXTINCTION. Eve has seen and undergone catastrophic change before, has realised her own destiny after the Loom of Fate was cute and she travelled between alternate universes and saw the catastrophic ends that happened because of her own death. She's also seen and realised a world where the Library no longer existed, where everything was catastrophically wrong because people were not allowed to think or imagine.
Eve is afraid of losing these things, of losing what it means to be human (and even losing her own humanity now that she's immortal). She's seen worlds that have been destroyed and dearly clings to life itself and keeping things as they should be: protected and safe, saving the world and people in it. Her fear of losing it all again, of humanity itself and the world breaking or dying would be powerful for the Entity, especially if she couldn't save it.

Heba or Tian? Tian. This is partly so I have characters aligned to different places but also because having Eve get used to magic (and it not necessarily being the bad thing she's used to) will be interesting. Eve's usually very wary about magic and whilst she acknowledges that in the right hands it can do helpful things, she's seen it corrupt and harm more than anything else. So now discovering that she can do magic? Oh boy. Acquired Ability: Magic
► IMMORTAL. After tethering to the Library, Eve became the Eternal Guardian making her immortal, meaning that she is unable to die and no longer needs to eat or sleep and no longer becomes sick. Suitability:
Aside from developing Eve and her magic, she's someone that likes a plan, is good at being in charge and would try to round up and rally/organise the team to help them succeed on their missions (though whether or not she is successful in that is something else!) Her military and weird magic experience will give her helpful skills and there's a lot of personal development that could happen in this situation.

CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE
What are your character's feelings on freedom? How would they define freedom? How important is it to them? Would they fight for it, or have they fought for it in the past? If they have, how did they go about it? Eve's military raised, someone who became a soldier herself and it would be easy to talk about freedom there, about the values she was raised with and how she spent her military service in the name of freedom. Really, we don't see the biggest definition of freedom for Eve until the final episode: it's always there, a quieter underlying theme and part of who she is and what she does, but freedom is really thrown into full force when it's visibly taken away. The Library is a representation of everything: without the Library there is no creativity, imagination, new ideas, and essentially freedom. In a world without it people are lost, policed by the ideas they're allowed (none) and forced into a role. Eve starts off being the only one who remembers the Library and fights to keep those memories, to wake up her Librarians and to get the Library back. Freedom, creativity, expression, life is important to Eve and to have life you need to be free, you need to be able to express yourself, to think, to imagine and be happy and she refuses to quit until she's successful.
Describe a formative moment in your character's life, something that changed them and defined who they are as a person. Eve was born on the last stroke of Christmas Eve, and so named Eve. Christmas has always been something that she's struggled with and disliked, not because of her birthday (though she tends to ignore that too) but because of how she grew up. Eve's a military kid, growing up on military bases, seeing the world through tinted lenses of trouble and other people's hardship. When she was younger everyone acted as if Christmas was something where people came together, where there was love and happiness, but all Eve saw was that pain, was people fighting: the reason they were there was for fighting. This opinion stuck with Eve as she grew up, through her own time in the military into an adult. It changed when she met Santa Claus (really). Eve spent the entire time with him being skeptical, refusing to call him Santa and whilst she did her job she didn't believe: there was no Christmas cheer. That changed at the climax where the only person that eventually could save the day was Eve: the woman that didn't want to believe. A conversation with Santa about her doubts, about what Christmas really was about helped a little, it got her to agree to the job (she could have died but if she could help she would). After going through with it, spreading cheer all over the world and giving people hope it helped Eve to find a little herself, to not be so jaded even if Christmas would never be her favourite time of year. But she celebrated it that year with her friends and even celebrated her birthday as well, finding some joy and hope that would help her later on.
Does your character have a favorite person? If so, how would they describe that person? What do they like about that person? What do they dislike? If they don't have a favorite person, what would they look for in a favorite person? What traits would draw them to another person? What traits could they tolerate that others might not be able to? Eve's favourite person is the person that she loves: Flynn Carsen. When she'd forgotten everything about the world and even him she described him as nice, cute and completely crazy. She isn't wrong. Flynn is academically brilliant, kind and manic. It was these three things that drew her to him, that got her to trust him the very first time that they met even though their situation was impossible: he was helpful, he kept her listening and he helped save her life. Eve is drawn to people who are kind, who are charming in a brilliant sense, someone intelligent, conversational and it helps to overlook the downsides. The fact that Flynn's brilliance makes him seem pretty crazy with how his brain works (jumping trains of thought), the fact that his idea of a date is diving headfirst into danger (she loves it really) and that he has a habit of disappearing with little word (she understands even when it hurts). What Eve likes is good communication, knowing where she stands and a goodness within them. She can overlook faults for that. What she doesn't like is selfishness and cruelty, and even a good amount of charm wouldn't win her over.
What has your character's arc been like so far? How have they developed from their first appearance to their canon point? Eve started the show as a by the book military girl, well respected, tough and so not here for any nonsense. Except she was dropped into a whole bunch of nonsense and rather than battling against it she ran head first into it, helped, and realised that the world was just a little bigger than she'd known. There was a big learning curve for Eve in terms of magic, though her military training actually helped (they were as dangerous as the wmd's she was used to finding, if not more dangerous) and she had people around to help. Except those people were civilians rather than the military personnel that she was used to: they didn't take orders, they didn't know how to fight but they did have skills that she didn't have. Eve knew how to work as a team and lead one but they didn't, so she had to learn how to bring these civilians into the fold, how to herd them to keep them safe and they had to learn how to be a team instead of solo, how to listen. They all helped each other: Eve softened from giving orders (somewhat) to discussing and managing and they learned how to use each other's skills. They became a family, not just a team. Whilst Eve never lost anything of herself she became a more refined version of herself: still a boss, still capable and willing to sacrifice herself for the good of someone else (or the world) as she always has, but she learned how to do it in a different way, how to work with a different group of people. She found friends (and love) along the way, and got to do some pretty incredible (and improbable) things.
How would you like to continue your character's arc in the game? How would you like them to develop? What would you like to have them accomplish? So Eve's from the end of her canon where they've just saved the world (again) and she's just become immortal, gotten a super happy moment and had a pretty good day. Her arc in game would be more of a side-stepping expansion: she already knows about magic but it's in a very different context to how it would be seen and applied here. Eve is also someone who doesn't use magic (could learn but nopes so hard out of that) so finding that she now has the ability to use magic will be something she first struggles with, juggles and makes a choice on: will she learn how to use it to help people or will she stick to the skills she already knows? The people around her, how she sees magic used her and what she learns about it (and how it's different from what she already knows) will be very informative in developing that arc. Ultimately, I'd like her to learn more of the protective and helpful cantrips and spells, things to buff or protect the people that she's with, and it'll be a long, stepping forward and backwards road to getting her there, practicing and then using.
